The Department of Education, Government of Manipur, has launched a Merit Scholarship Scheme to financially support deserving students who have successfully completed their Class 10 and 12 examinations. This initiative aims to promote higher education and encourage academic excellence among the youth of Manipur.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a domicile of Manipur.
• Have successfully passed Class 10 and 12 examinations.
• Have passed their examinations from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE), Manipur.

Ineligibility Criteria

• Students already receiving any other scholarship or stipend.
• Students employed full-time.
• Students who did not pass the relevant examination in the year preceding the scholarship award.

Scholarship Benefits

• Class 10: ₹6,000 per annum
• Class 12: ₹12,000 per annum

Important Notes:

• The first 300 students who have passed Class 10 will receive the scholarship for two years.
• For Class 12, the scholarship will be awarded to:
  • 125 students from the Science stream.
  • 125 students from the Social Science stream.
  • 50 students from the Commerce stream.
• These students will receive the scholarship for three years.

Application Process

1. Register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):
   • Visit the NSP website.
   • Click on ‘Register’ and fill in the required details.
   • Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process.
2. Apply for Scholarship:
   • Select the “Merit Scholarship Scheme for Class 10 and 12 Students, Manipur” on the NSP.
   • Fill in the online application form with accurate information.
   • Upload necessary documents (Aadhaar card, domicile certificate, bank statement, marksheets).
   • Submit the application form.
